Lauren’s current explorations revolve around watercolours and ink pen. The fluidity of the medium is a pleasant contrast to the nature of tattoo.
Recently, Lauren wrote this statement. “I love that looking at art can bring someone happiness. I love that art can tell a story or make you wonder what’s just happened. Why IS that wolf running? I try to make art that does these things. I take pleasure in using colour, shape, and line to express the moment of an object without a focus on hyper-realism. Humans are not robots; our eyes do not perceive nature with everything simultaneously in such precise clarity. I also enjoy negative space, or the things unsaid. I don’t really know what to call what I do. Some say illustration, some say sketch, impression, expression? It’s what comes out of my brain.”
